In my recent work, I’ve been exploring the intersections of music, memory, and identity, using photography as a bridge between past and present. Inspired by the rhythm and improvisation of jazz, I approach my compositions with the same spontaneity—allowing moments to unfold naturally while staying intentional with light, texture, and framing. Whether shooting on film or digital, I aim to preserve the rawness of human connection, capturing fleeting expressions and layered histories in every frame.
Lately, I’ve been drawn to documenting the intimate spaces where culture thrives—small jazz events, family gatherings, and street performances that pulse with energy and tradition. Through this, I hope to create visual narratives that not only honor South Africa’s rich heritage but also invite reflection on the evolving nature of identity and storytelling.
